Strawberries & Cream Pie

February 14th arrived and I found myself in a predicament. It was Valentine’s Day, I had no presents for anyone and no time to go to the store to get any. I had to come up with something quick.

When I think about Valentine’s Day I think about love. When I think about love I think about…………..pie!

Valentine’s Day = love = pie

Problem Solved!




As much as I love strawberries and chocolate, my family is lucky to have gotten any of this particular pie.

If I had a refrigerator in my room they wouldn’t have.

Actually, if I had a refrigerator in my room, I probably wouldn’t be able to find it.




Do NOT let your little brothers { or Dad for that matter } eat all the strawberries or you won’t have any for the pie.


So, without further ado, here’s the recipe :

  • 1 graham cracker crust
  • 3/4 c chocolate chips
  • 2 t shortening { coconut oil}
  • 1 pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c sugar, plus extra for strawberries
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 – 8 oz.carton whipped topping
  • fresh strawberries


First, slice the strawberries, sprinkle them lightly with sugar and hide them in the fridge. Next, melt the shortening and chocolate chips over low heat. Pour the chocolate into the pie crust and stick it in the freezer { on a level spot } to harden. After that whip together the cream cheese and sugar until all the lumps are gone. Add the sour cream, vanilla and whipped topping and mix well. Refrigerate until cold. When served, top each piece with your juicy strawberries.

Pour yourself a big glass of cold milk and discover how deprived you’ve been your whole life. It’s that good.

    The pie looks yummy! The picture definitely makes the recipe, right??? :)

      I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Personally I think the pie is worth it even without the pictures :)

      I bet ya’ll could change this up a little and make it in a large pan to serve more people.

      I really do appreciate your pestering -ahem- encouragement.
