Quick and Easy Way to Freeze Blueberries

Keyword: Blueberries, freezing blueberries, preserving blueberries

Instructions

  • Lay freshly picked blueberries out on a rimmed baking sheet to sort through them.
  • Remove any berries that are unripe, bruised, crushed, moldy, dirty, also leaves, stems and other debris.
  • Place clean sorted berries into a zip lock freezer bag, gallon or quart size.
  • Try to get as much air out of the bag as possible, this can be done by placing a straw in the mostly closed bag and sucking out the air while closing the bag.
  • Label the bag with the date and place in freezer.
  • Rinse or wash berries as you take them out of the freezer to use them in your favorite recipe.

Notes

If you prefer to wash your blueberries before freezing, you will need to make sure they are very dry before placing them into your freezer bag.
You can do this by laying your washed berries out on a clean, dry kitchen towel to all them to dry.
When dry, place berries in bag and follow the rest of the instructions above.
